Vanessa Acheampong

Vanessa Acheampong is a graduate of Wawecus Road, Burncoat Middle, and Burncoat High School. After graduating from Burncoat, Vanessa attended the College of the Holy Cross, and it was there that her passions for education and the City of Worcester were ignited. After working for various education-based nonprofits in Worcester, Vanessa found her way back to WPS, and became a WPS English Teacher in 2016. Vanessa is excited about working as an advisory committee member, and with the network as a whole, because she knows what a great impact this network will have on current students, future students, and the City of Worcester as a whole.

Christina Chappell

Christina works for WEDF as the Finance & Community Engagement Manager. Though they may not have much in common, she enjoys both working on the alumni network project and keeping WEDF's books. She has lived in Worcester since 2012 and loves the city. Her experience in educational non-profits led her to WEDF. As a product of public education, she is proud to play a part in this effort.

Tony Economou

Born, raised and still living in Worcester, Tony went to Andover Street School and 1 year at Thorndyke Rd. School before attending Burncoat Jr. and Sr. High. He went on and started Interstate Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning in 1987, sold that business 10 years later and got in to real estate. He's been a REALTOR now for over 23 years here in Central Massachusetts, still seeing many WPS alumni around the City and hoping to connect with even more.

Johanna Mawson

Born and raised in Worcester, Johanna is an alum of Clark Street Elementary, Burncoat Middle and Burncoat High School. Johanna attended the College of the Holy Cross graduating in 2012. She has worked in educational advancement at St. Marks School, Tufts University and is currently the Director of Annual Giving and Constituent Programs at Pomfret School. Johanna is excited to work with WEDF and the WPS alumni network as she knows first hand the power strong alumni groups can have on future generations of students. Johanna and her husband (a North Carolina transplant) have called the Burncoat neighborhood home since 2018.

Kerry Mulcahy

Kerry Mulcahy is a graduate of May Street School, Forest Grove and Doherty Memorial High School. Mulcahy has been a ELA teacher at Doherty High School since 2004 within the Engineering Technology Academy. Mulcahy has been on the WEDF Distinguished Alumni Event Committee since 2015. She is hopeful that this committee will showcase the talented students who have made our community and world a better place. Mulcahy stays involved with the WEDF to honor the memory of her mom who was a dedicated first grade teacher in the WPS.

Clare Nadolski

Clare Nadolski began her education at Granite Street School, and the former Providence St. Junior High. After graduating from Worcester State College, Clare returned to the Worcester Public Schools where she began a 34 year career as an elementary classroom teacher, P.E.A.K.
